Covid-19 -Telehealth Consultations

Limiting the spread of COVID-19 and still providing good care

188 Medical is committed to keeping our whole community SAFE, and limiting the spread of COVID-19 so that our hospitals have the capacity to manage those who need it the most.

We are still here for you, we are just doing things a bit differently now to keep us all safe.

Your doctors that know you well are offering telephone consultations.

Telehealth is a safe and convenient way to connect with your doctor and face to face appointments are available with all our doctors when examination is required, at allocated times.

Regular clinics are scheduled for flu immunisation, routine childhood immunisations, pregnancy care or concerning skin lesions.

“You can book online or call our reception on 5661 9188 to make an appointment.”
WHAT IS A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT?

A Telehealth appointment is just like standard GP appointment, but conducted over the phone.

WHAT CAN BE DONE VIA TELEHEALTH?
  • Chronic disease management
  • Mental health support
  • Treatment of infections such at bronchitis, UTI, skin infections
  • Referral for COVID-19 testing
  • Repeat prescriptions and referrals
  • Medical certificates and range of other health services.
HOW DO I BOOK A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT?

To book a Telehealth appointment, call our Reception on 07 5661 9188 during business hours and they will assist you in choosing the best time and day and your Doctor to call you back. Alternatively you can book a Telehealth appointment online clicking the red button above and follow the easy steps, or you can book by using HotDoc app.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Please keep your phone nearby and make sure you are in quite space with reliable connection. Your GP will call you at agreed time and discuss your health concern. If physical examination is required, face to face appointment will be arranged or you will be referred on. Following telehealth consultations, all documents can be sent to you or to required destination. For example,  if a script is required, it will be emailed or faxed to a Pharmacy.

Please note: email is not generally “secure” and privacy/security cannot be guaranteed, but we can still send you documents with your consent.

WHAT DOES A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT COST?

Temporary bulk billed Telehealth consultations lasting up to 10 min are available for some patients that are in vulnerable groups. Please contact our Reception for further information.

Otherwise our standard fees apply to Telehealth consultation. Payment will be required prior to your consultation.

*We are able to offer Telehealth consultations only to our EXISTING patients. Generally we are not able to offer Telehealth consultations to new patients.
