Appointments for each patient are scheduled 10-15 minutes apart. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Emergencies will be given priority. Extended appointment times are available upon request. Please inform reception if your appointment pertains to minor surgery, medicals, work cover, pap screening, or test results, or if you need extended appointment.
We try to run our daily appointment schedule on time, but often there are urgent and complex cases which cause delays. Please check with reception if we appear to be running late. We often have patients waiting for appointments, and so it is important to advise us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment time. Failure to cancel a doctor’s appointment may incur a fee.
We are a private billing practice and therefore you will need to pay your consultation fees on the day you attend our Practice. Consultation Fees are to be paid on the day of your consultation, there will be an out of pocket gap. Medicare rebates for GP services have been frozen since 1 July 2014 and will not be increased until 1 July 2020. This Government decision makes it very difficult for our practice to meet the costs of providing a Comprehensive Service that is safe and of a High Quality Standard without charging gap.
It is Australian legislation that prescriptions or referrals are only given after a consultation by appointment. They are professional services and required appropriate consideration. A medical certificate of any kind is a legal document and reflects the professional opinion of the doctor. Our doctors issue Sickness and Work Cover certificates where required and these will generally require a consultation by appointment.
