If you have flu-like symptoms, including a fever, cough, headache, sore throat or shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste, diarrhoea or vomiting, it is important you get tested as early as possible, as these may be COVID-19 symptoms.
We are here to support all of our patients in the best way we can. Please contact us via phone first prior to making a booking or visiting the Clinic if you are feeling unwell and / or have any flu-like symptoms, including symptoms listed above.
Our staff will book Telehealth appointment with a GP and you will be triaged. Please do not visit practice before you are triaged appropriately if you are unwell with symptoms listed above. We have to provide safe environment for other patients, staff and doctors.
Please advise at the time of booking if you have been in an area identified as a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 2 weeks or you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
Your mask is protecting other patients, doctors and staff and it is a sign of mutual care and respect. IF YOU HAVE A VALID EXEMPTION WE CAN OFFER YOU TELEHEALTH CONSULTATION (if medically appropriate). Please do not take off your mask whilst on the premises.
If you have any COVID like symptoms or you are concerned about COVID, please book an appointment at Respiratory Clinics where you will be examined and tested by General Practitioner in FULL PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. They are GP, just like us, but they have adequate PPE and they will assist you.

If you are a new patient please bring a valid Medicare Card and Photo ID and arrive 10 minutes before your consultation to complete a new Patient Registration Form. Alternatively you can access it online and bring to your next consultation.
Appointments for each patient are scheduled 10-15 minutes apart. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Emergencies will be given priority. Extended appointment times are available upon request. Please inform reception if your appointment pertains to minor surgery, medicals, work cover, pap screening, or test results, or if you need extended appointment.
We try to run our daily appointment schedule on time, but often there are urgent and complex cases which cause delays. Please check with reception if we appear to be running late. In an endeavor to provide the best medical care for all patients, we ask you to be understanding and co-operative in these instances.
We often have patients waiting for appointments, and so it is important to advise us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment time. Failure to cancel a doctor’s appointment may incur a fee.
Doctors practicing at 188 MEDICAL are privately billing for their services, which means that there will be out of pocket expense for you. You will need to pay your fees on the day you attend your appointment. Fees vary between doctors, please contact reception team for further details.
It is Australian legislation that prescriptions or referrals are only given after a consultation by appointment. They are professional services and required appropriate consideration. A medical certificate of any kind is a legal document and reflects the professional opinion of the doctor. Our doctors issue Sickness and Work Cover certificates where required and these will generally require a consultation by appointment.
